Tekashi 6ix9ine Facing 24 Months of Imprisonment
Despite cooperating with prosecutors, Rapper known as Tekashi 6ix9ine will not escape prison. He is sentenced to 24 months in prison for racketeering by a federal Judge, but also get praised by the ladder for helping putting away two violent New York street gang leaders.
In addition to the time in jail, the 23 years old rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, will be serving 300 hours of community service, with five years of supervision upon release.
Indeed, Tekashi’s music success was mainly based on the praise of Gang violence, mostly due to his lyrics, but also his affiliation with New York’s Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, a gang founded by prisoners on Rikers Island, a notorious New York City jail. These different aspect of his lifestyle led him straight to court, where he immediately cooperated with the law, denouncing anybody involved in the gang. Earlier this year, He pleaded guilty to nine separate felony charges connected with his involvement in the Nine Treys.
In fact, with all the charges he was facing — firearms offenses, racketeering, conspiracy, and drug trafficking including including a shooting in which an innocent bystander was wounded, Hernandez should’ve been facing a more serious sentence. Luckily, thanks to his cooperation as a federal informant, he was dealt a softer blow.
