On January 1st, while most were celebrating the New Year, Being Mabes was releasing his breezy single entitled “Window Seat”. The song is something unique, exuding a mysterious and melancholic vibe. The production’s structure, which was actually orchestrated by Mabes himself, blends a delicate R&B ambiance with pop ingredients.
Also, something interesting about this project is the fact that most of the vocals and saxophones were recorded in the young producer’s camper van deep in the Colorado wilderness.
The result fuses influences from experimental producers like Nicolas Jaar while carrying the torch of neo-funk popularized by Jungle & Still Woozy.
