SØLV’s New Track “Heavy Weather” Can Calm Your Soul

London based artist, SOLV (Danish for silver), creates her soothing music straight out of her apartment, fusing R&B, pop and electronic all into one hit. The production in this track is soothing and tranquilizing. She derives her melodic inspiration from well-known artists like Lana Del Rey and Frank Ocean. SOLV is a talented self-taught singer, songwriter, and producer, having had learned the guitar at the young age of 15 and learned how to write and produce her own music shortly after. Regarding the inspiration and the unique creation behind this song, she states:
“Heavy Weather is about having one special person in your life who shines a light onto your darkness distracting you from your situation, surroundings and circumstances. They alone can lift your mental state and keep you grounded. I wrote, produced and recorded the song during lockdown after a couple of weeks of feeling uninspired and low due to everything going on in the world at the time. Initially I found a synth sound and instinctively played a melody which became a main hook. After that, everything just flowed and the song was written within a matter of days.”
