Singer/songwriter ANNNA Wins Her Listeners’ Hearts With Her Single “Stardom/Hater”
ANNNA's Stardom is a chic tribute showcasing the Dutch-Latvian artist's unique sound. In October 2019, "Stardom" won Amsterdam Dance Event’s Sound Lab Demolition Competition. The song was inspired by a BBC article that showed findings of an increase in domestic violence in English homes during the World Cup when their home team loses. The song features deep bass sounds, melancholic synths, and a creative and catchy rhythm... all carefully woven with ANNNA's chilled-yet-expressive voice.
The lyrics are poignant and paint a rather dark image of someone being her "man": "just one day...we will fight back..." The haunting words are cleverly mixed with the avant-garde rhythm and wavy sounds to generate a song with feeels. A tune one could definitely groove to with their friends.
