Marian Hill’s “Eat U Alive” Is Dark, Clean, And Oh-So-Tasty
“Eat U Alive” (ft. Steve Davit) is the focus song off of Marian Hill’s 2020 EP: “was it not”. This NYC duo is no stranger to producing amazing music. The two are known for their simple, clean, and yet incredibly catchy grooves. ‘Eat U Alive’ is dark, punchy, minimal, and daring. The song starts off with a lovely, deep, super-saturated bass contrasted with Samantha Gongol’s creatively processed vocals. It continues to unfold with 808-reminiscent hits and snares, trap-like hi-hat fills, and tasteful vocal effects.
In the build to the chorus, Davit’s saxophone makes its presence: it’s fat, it’s sexy, and oh, so seductive! The breakdown features more of some undeniably tasty saxophone and is arguably my favorite part of the song: “and it hits me like….” MmMmm! This song and this EP is certainly worth your while, check out: Marian Hill.
