Luss Showcases His Powerful Artistry with “No Angels"
Meet Bronx artist, Luss. He’s a devoted artist who has put in a lot of work into highlighting police brutality and the experiences within his neighborhood. His newest release, No Angels, was written the day after Luss got arrested at a peaceful protest. The instrumental was worked by Joe craze and helped the artist find the perfect words for the song. No Angels is an interpretation of everything Luss felt in that terrifying moment.
Luss explains how “out of no where, police were hitting everyone with batons, pepper spraying and slamming people to the ground. You start thinking about your whole life in those moments when you’re unsure of what’s going to happen to you. We were handcuffed and put to the ground for almost 2 hours for the whole community to see.” Luss had to spend about 14 hours in police custody with no food or water. He had several physical injuries, but was more worried about finding a way to express his deep feelings of defeat. This song was a therapeutic way to hopefully be heard. So go stream No Angels now and allow yourself to really feel these heartbreaking lyrics.
