Get To Know Rising Star - Jerrod Azaad - & His Newest Release “Put It Down"
Put It Down started as just a fun Pop song. Producer, Dreez, sent Jerrod Azaad this track around last Christmas Eve. Once Azaad heard the beat, he almost instantaneously started writing lyrics. They went through a few different versions of the song, but together, decided to implement R&B elements while still keeping true to its dance music roots.
Lyrically, inspiration for the theme came from Sade’s single Is It A Crime. Azaad went on to explain that in comparison, “the lover in both songs has an unshakeable hold on our hearts and we illustrate a picture of the depths of our undying love. I wanted to take the topic into a more upbeat realm. Creating a light-hearted approach while retaining its sensual appeal.”
Musically, the first 20 seconds highlight a catchy beat and a female vocal that will surely draw you in. Jerrod Azaad continues to make a name for himself and you can hear the influences of Chris Brown and The Weeknd guiding his way through this musical journey. Check Put It Down for yourself and stream now.
