Get Familiar With Jess Meilman’s Debut Single “Guilty Soul”
It is almost impossible to hear American artist Jess Meilman's sublime voice and not consider listening to her entire musical catalogue. Her latest track "Guilty Soulmate" showcases a colourful melodic insight, fused with a gentle yet melancholic rhythm, in an indie pop fashion. The guitar riffs transport you into a laid back groove, while Jess' voice coddles you.
An interesting factor to note in this production is the simplicity with which the track was orchestrated. Indeed, during a studio session, Jess' two producers, Sné and Thomas, played a guitar loop that Jess flashed on, while she effortlessly started to write. The concept quickly took shape, and a feel was breathed into it. Moreover, the lyrics involve an everyday phenomenon - the break-up, after an already uncertain relationship.
