Four (4) Singles That will Smooth Out Your Monday
Devan + Jon Vinyl — Nascar
Enjoying good music on a relaxing evening with friends is always a pleasure, and Devan and Jon Vinyl's "Nascar" fits the bill for a nice, relaxed evening. The track has an R&B feel with alternative music ingredients. The two protagonists of the track, Devan and Jon Vinyl, both from Canada, smoothly transition into this soothing waltz. Both artists have a lot to say about the synergistic atmosphere that reigned during the creative session in the studio.
Jon Vinyl: “Working with Devan on 'Nascar' was a great experience. As soon as I heard the song, I immediately fell in love with the approach she took with the songwriting.”
Devan: “This song came about in an interesting way because it evolved out of a freestyle. I usually start with lyrics, or at least a general concept/emotion that I want to draw from. In this case, I just sat down and looped some chords on the guitar and left a voice note running until the song was pretty much done. It came very quickly, and I didn’t really know what I was trying to say until it was finished. It’s about escapism and wanting to drive away from anxiety and sadness.”
Fraen Again — Home Now
"Home Now" is a powerful, soulful and emotional track. The song was unveiled last summer by German artist Fraen Again, and the musical essence is as palpable and uplifting as ever. Indeed, with a mellowing melodic delivery style, the production sweeps in a torrent of sweetness and melancholy, while maintaining a consistent guitar foundation. The song's lyrical undertone encapsulates an introspective vision of advocating self-reliance and self-esteem.
"Sometimes it seems to me that people are so distracted with their own emotions that they forget about the feelings of others. So the song concludes that I choose me. I love me. And therefore, yes, I am the first choice," — confides fraen.
Abel. — Shower Boy
It's almost impossible to hear the track "Shower Boy" by American artist Abel and not fall under the spell of her charming voice and intoxicating melodies. The track itself is a beautiful ballad with R&B sounds mixed with some alternative pop ingredients. The atmosphere given off by the beat is definitely soulful and the vocal energy of the young singer gives you goosebumps.
Indeed, the song's lyrical core explores the feeling of trust and surrender in a relationship. In other words, the singer seems to draw on her personal experience to craft her material. Stream below
Dylan Dunlap — Could Have Been Ours
Through American artist Dylan Dunlap's track "Could Have Been Ours", your auditory system is initially introduced to Dylan's pristine voice, gradually crowned with various ethereal melodic backdrops.
Not only is the melodic scheme poignant and emotionally catalytic, but the lyrical aesthetic easily captures the listener's attention, due to the authenticity and vulnerability exuded by the atmosphere. It is almost impossible to hear such a beautiful song and not appreciate it for what it is. Indeed, through the lyrics, the singer highlights the feelings of frustration felt in many relationships, while urging one to channel the pain derived from these frustrations into something meaningful.
