Feel The Loving Energy In YXL Ayo’s Single “G.R.A.”
Enchanting guitar melodies and a smooth Afrobeat rhythm are combined with the husky vocals of British artist YXL Ayo, to create a temperature-raising and heartfelt summer feel called "G.R.A.".
Hailing from Nigeria, the young artist dives deep into his roots to offer us a singular production, which partly paints his ethnic heritage.
The composition, which blends English and Yoruba lyrics, creates a very catchy sound universe, with the aim of paying tribute to the artist's Grandmother, who passed away from Covid-19. Indeed, the acronym G.R.A, standing for Grandma Remi Amona, refers to the house where the artist's grandmother lived in Nigeria. In fact, YXL describes his late Grandmother as a mother not only, to the direct family but also to those who were in need.
The track really oozes a pure energy of love and affection, since the artist felt like he was channeling his Grandmothers energy when he was making this song.
