Dee Holt Takes Us On A Soothing Journey With “Dishes”
With her latest track "Dishes", the Canadian singer Dee Holt plunges us into her warm and soothing universe, flavoured with poignant melodies. Indeed, the production exhibits a subtle but highly effective layout, with catchy guitar riffs and a stunning vocal delivery from Dee.
Furthermore, the lyrical imagery behind the track addresses the subject of a toxic and dysfunctional relationship, while encouraging anyone trapped in such an environment to break away without further delay. To give us an idea of her vision, Dee shares:
“I wrote this song about a one-sided relationship... It's about someone who gives it their all, while the other sits and watches. It speaks about being taken for granted and walked all over. However, as the song goes on, this person realizes their worth and gets out of this draining relationship and comes to the conclusion that they're so much better off without it. There are only so many chances you can give to someone, and this song is about standing your ground when it becomes too much.”
