While the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards took place this year with little drama, some could not help but notice that the interpreter of the hit "Ring" may have thrown pikes at Nicki Minaj

As the viewers remember, Cardi B started the ceremony with a brief sketch and tricked the audience with a wrap of fake baby. But that was what she had said before unpacking the iconic silver 'Moon Man' Video Music Award..

"Welcome to New York, everyone, I'm the Empress," she says with a laugh, with the "Moon Man" secretly wrapped up in her arms.

Some have interpreted the commentary as a dig at Nicki Minaj, who recently published her fourth studio album, entitled "Queen"
Nicki and Cardi, who respectively, won one and three awards on Monday night , have been suspected, in the past, of being in a sort unclear "Beef", even though it was thought that any conflict was resolved when they met and took a picture together at the Met Gala 2018.

However, on Nicki's recent track, "Ganja Burns", a line drawn the fans attention: "They Done went to Witch Doctors to bury Barbie / But I Double Back, kill Bitches, Bury the Body." Listening to the song, it seems that Minaj says "Bardi" instead of "body", an obvious reference to the nickname Cardi B.

Ebro Darden addressed the subject in his interview with Minaj on Beats 1 Radio from Apple. And Nicki responded by saying: 

“Now, I didn’t know Cardi and I had an issue, but I guess we do since you’re saying it and other people are saying it. To me, she may have taken an issue with things that I’ve said, but I’m not going to bite my tongue […] You gotta have thick skin. People talk shit about me all the time […] You can’t be expect to be liked and loved and praised all the fuckin’ time. Give me a break.”

Moreover, in an interview, Nicki confessed to the fact that her album "Queen" was left behind by "Astroworld" by Travis Scott, and also about the competition between female rapper. She says: 

"Let me tell you something. Having a big push from a Label, does not make you great. And to me, it doesn't mean you are my competition. You're not my competition. "

Indeed, Nicki didn't mention Cardi B's name but we all know that Cardi B is the Hot New Female Rapper Getting a lot of attention. Therefore, people made this assumption that Nicki was talking about Cardi B. And apparently Cardi B too, assumed that Nicki was talking about her and she slickly responded, after the MTV awards event by saying: 

"I wanna thank all my fans, my family, that supported me. All the love that my fans and my friends,.. that everybody shows me, is genuine,.. is beautiful. And that's something that God gave me that you can't buy ...Bitch!" 

Although Cardi B didn't specifically named anyone, many fans took that quote "Bitch" reference as a shade to Nicki Minaj. Also Cardi gets on a track, after the event to throw more shots by rapping: "I'm the queen of talking Shit, yea I'm backing it up/ yeah back back backing it up"
