Rihanna calls her fans to remove Snapchat after an ad She didn't like

Last weekend Snapchat found itself in the midst of a controversy over its latest misplaced ad campaign starring Rihanna and Chris Brown.

"Would you rather slap Rihanna or hit Chris Brown? This is the title of the advertising campaign for the latest Snapchat platform game. Targeting directly the couple of celebrities, which was at the heart of a case of domestic violence in 2009, the campaign wasn't clearly well taken by Rihanna.

This Thursday, March 15th, the interpreter of "Love On The Brain" directly addressed the American company in her Instagram story: "You have spent money creating something that humiliates victims of domestic violence" - She Wrote
"SNAPCHAT I know you already know you're not my favorite app! But I'm just trying to understand what's the purpose of this whole bazaar. (...) I would call that ignorance but I know you're not that stupid. You spend money creating something that humiliates the victims of domestic violence and you make a joke about it. (…) Shame on you ! "
Despite Snapchat publicly apologizing last Tuesday and denouncing an "advertisement reviewed and approved by mistake", adding that it would have been "immediately withdrawn last weekend", it was not enough for the artist who invited her followers to "get rid of the app and its excuses".
Following the publication of the Barbadian singer, the share price of the application would have dropped by almost 4%.
