Joel Ansett’s Latest Single Definitely Meet our “Expectations”

Every time Joel Ansett drops a song, we’re never disappointed with its quality. Indeed, he has managed to master his art and especially his musical style — and this is the case in his latest single "Expectations", which is a cocktail of colours and sonic sparks.

Indeed, the artist from Denvers, has even decided to subtly distinguish himself from his usual style, by integrating a small personal touch to the production, while keeping, however, a musical foundation revolving around alternative music. The final result is breathtaking and the lyrical context, inspiring.

Moreover, the subject of the song exposes a reality to which we can easily identify. It's about having expectations of a situation and being disappointed in the end. This results in the adoption of a behaviour of insecurity and distrust, in order to protect oneself from disappointment.

By the way, Joel has a little anecdote about the making of this project:

“This song started with hearing the no seatbelt warning in a rental car. It was a new sound, different than the one I was used to at home; and as soon as I heard it I was hearing a beat and some melodies to go with it. I had a co-write that day and showed my friend the voice memo from the car ride. A few hours later we had this song…”
