Swedish-Iranian singer Ayelle teams up with Mucky on seductive RnB single “Boy” (via Majestic Casual)
Swedish-Iranian singer-songwriter Ayelle is back with the enthralling new single “Boy” exploring the process of letting go and the cultivating of self-love. This time she blends her bittersweet r&b sound over production by Mucky, also known for his work with Sevdaliza. The track is sensuous but soothing, irresistible in the way it lulls the listener in as if it was a lullaby, until you listen to the lyrics.
“Growing up, girls are bombarded with fairytales about women whose lives and happiness depend upon men. This message goes quite deep and can sometimes make us look for fulfilment everywhere else but in ourselves. I wrote this track about coming to the realisation that I had to love myself after coming out of a relationship that was all-consuming.”
The new release follows a series of re-invigorating singles and collaborations released in 2017, including the Spotify playlisted ‘Issues’ and the PRS Women Make Music supported ‘Lacuna’. Collaborations with Calper, AKAY, and more have positioned the young artist as one to keep an eye on.
Another EP is also in the pipelines for the Swedish-Iranian singer, who’s been steadily carving out her own space, garnering support from the likes of Complex UK, Earmilk, The Line of Best Fit, Majestic Casual, The 405 and Indie Shuffle.
