New Orleans-native lyricist, rapper, singer and producer Pell Unveiled “Simple and Plain”
New Orleans-native lyricist, rapper, singer and producer Pell dropped “Simple and Plain” via Payday Records, produced by electronic R&B singer, songwriter and DC based producer Imad Royal, who worked with Pell on “throwback” from his girasoul EP. Royal has worked most notably with The Chainsmokers on “Memories...Do Not Open,” gnash’s “Superlit” and Panic! At the Disco’s “Death of a Bachelor.”
“Simple and plain is probably one of the oldest songs I’ve recorded since my first project FWD,” said Pell. “It’s about reconnecting with someone that you're intimate with; because you understand that -underneath the fighting/disagreement - what brought you together can keep you together.”
Pell’s new single “Simple and Plain” follows his recent releases of “Greyhound,” “Fallback” and “Hear Me,” which is featured on the official Madden NFL 19 soundtrack alongside Migos, Pusha T, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz, Lil Yachty and more. Pell continues to drop singles with a transformative sound via Payday Records following his collaborative Magic Hour EP with renowned producer NGHTMRE, released on Diplo's Mad Decent. Pell is accompanying singer Doja Cat on her Amala Tour this October in select cities, scheduled to be performing on October 14th in New York at the Music Hall of Williamsburg.
This is the third single in a lineup of slated releases to come via the Payday label, in which Pell will be dropping one song a month through the end of this year.
