Summer is quite done, and people are getting back to their activities. However, even though summer is over, the music never stops. And the music is here to remind us all the tremendous moments of our lives. That’s why you must always keep your headphones on, or turn your speakers back on to enjoy these musical journeys.
Mathes — Plan B
Mathes is an artist to put under radar, not only because of her tremendous voice but also because of the unique sound signature infused with her composition. Her latest single « Plan B », is a delicious combination of R&B and indie pop music, delineating a love circle between her, a guy and her friend. The production, fluid and soulful, incorporates catchy and glamorous melodies, that easily get stuck in your head for the rest of the day. Dylan Rockoff — Competition
Dylan Rockoff immerses us in a pampering vibe with his single « Competition », which is a sweet and polished blend of folk and Indie pop, with a hint of R&B. Indeed, the track oozes a lot of emotion, not only thanks to Dylan’s fluid and genuine vocal performance, but also thanks to the instrumental’s catchy melodies. Jon Vinyl — Carousel
21 years old Canadian singer Jon Vinyl returns with a smooth R&B composition « Carousel », which he describes as « A really special song ». The track starts with some melodious piano chords before introducing Jon’s velvety vocal performance. Indeed, by listening to the song, you can tell that it’s a genuine orchestration presenting Jon's profound emotions. About The song, Jon shares:
"This song is really special to me, I created this vibe in LA earlier this year. The song is about the trials and tribulations of young love. The bitter as well as the sweet, something we can all relate to. I hope you enjoy."
Jeida Woods — Selfless
Zambian-born, Sydney-based Jeida Woods debuts with a marvelous single « Selfless ». Clearly the track will remind you a bit of 6lack’s vibe. It’s quite normal because the song written/produced Jeida Woods with the assistance of Lucianblomkamp, who previously worked with 6lack. Indeed, note that Jeida’s music centers around stories of dark romance, intimacy and breakups; sonically fitting perfectly alongside Bryson Tiller, Partynextdoor, 6lack and The Weeknd's early mixtape days. Jeida has definitely something special and with Time he will get the recognition he deserves.
Lo village — For The Children
When You first hear the song « For The Children » by Gaithersburg music group Lo Village, you immediately get enticed by the catchy and uncommon hook. I mean the groovy flow and childish tone used in the performance of the hook fits well the type of production and gives to the vibe a certain versatile aspect. More importantly, the verses were simply but consistently delivered by all members, with a certain hint of charisma. The production is definitely filling a void that’s been lacking in the modern hip-hop scene, knowing that these days Hip hop music is mostly about autotuned — often off tone — singing rappers. Nikko Baby — Wavy
Groovy and infused with colors, the single « Wavy » by Rapper/Singer Nikko Baby, is a solid and melodious production that will boost your positivity a bit more. The track is definitely a versatile Bop with catchy vocal tones, and the beat takes on a wonderful trip, blend R&B sonorities with a Rap charisma. Orchestrated by Connor visuals, the images explore different scenes where Nikko exhibit his swag, and his luxurious lifestyle, while being accompanied by a beautiful model. Stream below
